Je ne suis pas forcément un amateur de FPS (parce que je suis une grosse quiche) mais des fois certains jeux arrivent avec des concepts supers novateurs. C’était le cas pour Mirror’s Edge et qu’est-ce que j’ai kiffé ma race dessus. Un autre de la même trempe m’aura beaucoup plus, il s’agit de Portal. Mélange savant entre FPS et jeu de réflexion, il possède une ambiance unique couplée à une bonne dose d’humour. Portal m’a scotché à mon siège et j’avais passé plus qu’un agréable moment en sa compagnie. Alors vous vous doutez bien que lorsqu’en avril dernier, Portal 2 a pointé le bout de son nez, je vérifiais déjà si j’avais bien entretenu mon portal gun. Ha bah ouais hein, Glados n’a qu’à bien se tenir !
THIS IS A TRIUMPH !
Pour ceux qui ne verraient pas de quel titre je veux parler (de toute manière même si vous le savez, un petit récap ne fait pas de mal), il s’agit du jeu dans lequel on incarne une nana, Chell, muette et armée d’un portal gun. Non le but n’est pas de dézinguer tout le monde mais bel et bien de résoudre les différents tests proposés par cette salope de Glados à l’aide de son portal gun. Ce dernier permet de créer 2 portails, un bleu et un orange, reliant ainsi l’espace en un point. C’est pratique et c’est fun. Enfin ça c’était le pitch du premier.
Dans Portal 2, beaucoup d’années se sont écoulées depuis notre première promenade dans le Centre d’enrichissement d’Aperture Science. Chell est réveillée par un petit robot hyperactif du nom de Weathley qui va tenter de l’aider à fuir de cet endroit en passant par les différentes salles de test. Cette courte introduction permet de mettre en évidence le moteur physique de Valve (qui roxxxe du poney, dédicace à Killyoh) mais également de lancer un petit didacticiel qui permettra aux joueurs de comprendre plus en détails le principe des portails. Evidemment rien ne se passera comme prévu et votre fuite sera bien plus longue que prévu.

IL A PETE UN BOULON !
Dans les faits, Portal 2 ne casse pas 3 pattes à un canard. Il s’agit toujours d’un jeu de réflexion dans lequel il faut résoudre les différentes énigmes pour passer à la salle suivante. Si les premières salles vous rappellent certaines choses, c’est normal, on y est déjà passé dans Portal premier du nom. Valve a tout de même su apporter quelques nouveautés comme le pont de lumière tangible, le rayon thermo-décourageant, ou différents gels. Tout cela permet évidemment de relancer l’intérêt du jeu et de corser un peu les énigmes.
On retrouve l’univers créé dans le premier mais ici le background est bien plus développé. Le joueur découvrira les origines d’Aperture Science et comprendra mieux ce qu’est ce grand centre de tests. Comparé au premier, le jeu est moins bien rythmé. Principalement dans l’ancien Aperture Science où tout est gigantesque : certains ont peut être été comme moi un peu désorienté face à ces décors trop grands. Mais heureusement, les développeurs de Valve savent y faire et arrivent à rattraper le coup avec quelques séquences de courses-poursuites totalement oufs !
En faisant une suite, Valve aurait pu perdre tout ce qui faisait l’originalité du premier. Au final le jeu est bon, voire même meilleur. Plus long, plus dur (je parle toujours du jeu), plus drôle, Portal 2 est magique du début à la fin. Et quelle fin mes amis ! Plus magistrale que ça, tu meurs ! Et des trucs déjantés comme ça, il y en a durant tout ce satané bon jeu comme par exemple les très nombreux monologues des tourelles défectueuses.

SEUL C’EST BIEN. A DEUX, C’EST MIEUX !
Portal 2 c’est également un multi en coopération ultra fun. Mais là encore, Valve tape très fort en s’associant à Sony pour que Steam soit présent sur PS3. Et ce multi cross plateforme est un vrai plus bien agréable. Mieux encore, avec un seul jeu PS3, il est possible de jouer sur console et sur PC (grâce à un code pour Steam) en même temps. Et ça, c’est juste énorme.
Dans ce multi, on incarne un des deux robots créés par Glados : Atlas et P-body, un petit gros et un grand maigre. Chacun possède un portal gun chargé de deux portails, ce qui nous fait un total de 4 portails, qui offrent donc des milliers de possibilités pour des niveaux de ouf malade de sa race. Glados dirige comme d’habitude les tests et offre des points (fictifs) de coopération totalement au hasard à travers des dialogues bien rigolos (histoire de rajouter un peu de compétitivité).
Qui dit coopération, dit forcément dialoguer avec son partenaire pour s’en sortir au mieux. Ici, le dialogue est presque inutile car Valve a pensé à tout. Pas besoin de casque et de micro, on dialogue avec toutes les interactions disponibles. On montre ce qu’il faut que l’autre regarde, on pointe là où l’autre doit placer un portail, on check, on rigole, on joue, on danse… Bref que du bonheur quoi ! Pour l’avoir testé à fond avec mon frère, le dialogue se révèle vraiment inutile et il est beaucoup plus fun de ne communiquer qu’à travers ces interactions. Et malgré ce que vous racontera Tétris (ce sale roux), j’ai pris plus mon pied à jouer sans micro qu’avec… mais ça c’est peut être aussi parce que je suis associal.

Portal 2 est un très bon cru à consommer sans aucune modération, seul dans le mode aventure ou à deux en coopération. Fun, frais, ce FPS est juste un véritable petit bijou. Valve avait trouvé un très bon concept avec le premier. Ils l’ont grandement amélioré avec cet épisode. Et puis avec l’éditeur de niveau, les joueurs ont la possibilité de créer eux même leur niveau. Je suis très pressé d’avoir de nouveau du temps libre pour aller tester les œuvres de la communauté. Si vous ne vous êtes pas encore jetés dessus, sachez que vous pouvez vous le procurer pour pas cher. Si vous êtes pauvres, patientez encore quelques temps et ruez vous dessus durant les soldes de Nowel sur Steam ! Et jouez-y à fond ! C’est un ordre !
Bonus Stage : Arrêtez nous un moment pour un Instant musical. Certes ce n’est pas la musique de Portal 2 mais c’est toujours aussi bon.
