Salut à toutes et à tous ! Ayant rejoint tout récemment GameurZ je me devais de proposer, pour ma toute première participation au blog, une critique d’un jeu qui me tient particulièrement à cœur :Uncharted 3 : Drake’s Deception. Certains vous diront que c’est un euphémisme et que je suis obsédée par la série des Uncharted et par Nathan Drake, ce qui est totalement vrai MAIS ! comme c’est la 1èrefois que je m’exprime ici, je vais tenter de réfréner mes instincts de fangirl, et de vous proposer une critique cohérente, exempte de tout écart susceptible d’être jugé un-peu-trop-enthousiaste. « Nate il est trop beau, blah blah blah » c’est bon, c’est dit, on en parle plus.
C’est donc le 2 Novembre 2011 qu’est sorti Uncharted 3 : Drake’s Deception, la suite de la série à succès des Uncharted, qui se compose maintenant de trois opus : Drake’s Fortune, Among Thieves et bien sûr, Drake’s Deception. Des exclusivités PS3 qui font pâlir d’envie tous ceux qui ne possèdent que la XBox. Et que dire sinon « merci » aux équipes de Naughty Dog de nous avoir offert, comme à chaque fois, un jeu d’aventure d’une qualité exceptionnelle. Cette année 2011 aura décidément été un bon cru.
SA PLACE EST DANS UN MUSEE !
Les rues sombres de Londres. Un pub mal famé. Un deal qui tourne mal. Voilà en résumé comment débute notre histoire. Lors de la scène d’ouverture du jeu (au passage magistralement réalisée), nous retrouvons Nathan accompagné de son mentor et ami de toujours Victor Sullivan. Et une fois n’est pas coutume, nos protagonistes se retrouvent dans une situation fâcheuse impliquant un anneau, des British et une chasse au trésor. Avec Drake, c’est toujours la même chose.
Une histoire de vengeance mènera une fois de plus Nathan sur les traces de son célèbre ancêtre, l’explorateur du XVIe siècle Sir Francis Drake. Cette fois, notre héro se lance à la recherche de la cité perdue de « Ubar », ou « L’Atlantide des Sables » comme l’avait surnommée Lawrence d’Arabie dans ses mémoires. Une ancienne cité marchande engloutie par les sables, car selon la légende, ses habitants auraient provoqué la colère divine… Truffé de véritables références historiques (croyez moi) parfaitement mêlées aux ajouts des scénaristes destinés à faire avancer l’intrigue, le jeu nous offre un scénario recherché et réfléchit, dont certaines subtilités risquent d’échapper aux moins renseignés d’entre nous. Mais rassurez-vous ! Le plaisir de jeu n’en est en rien altéré ! La compréhension de l’histoire non plus d’ailleurs. Néanmoins, un grand bravo aux équipes de Naughty Dog, qui en plus de proposer un contenu richissime à leurs joueurs, ne les prennent pas pour des assistés. Et ça, ça fait plaisir.
TOMB RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
Côté gameplay, c’est Uncharted 2, mais en mieux! Vous vous souvenez, dans Among Thieves, ce passage du jeu où pour survivre, Nathan devait sauter-de-camions-en-camions-tout-en-éliminant-les-hommes-de-Lazarevich-en-ne-restant-pas-trop-longtemps-sur-le-même-véhicule-sous-peine-de-partir-en-fumée-avec-lui? Et bien ce genre d’intensité se retrouve de façon encore plus poussée dans Drake’s Deception. Pour faire court, chacune des phases de jeu qui vous auront séduites dans les précédents volets d’Uncharted ont été revues et améliorées pour les rendre encore plus énormes! Vous aurez également droit à des courses poursuites (en tant que poursuivant OU poursuivi) digne d’un Jason Bourne, sautant de toit en toit, pénétrant brutalement dans les appartements en fracassant les fenêtres ou bousculant les passants qui gêneraient votre progression.
Autre nouveauté : le combat à mains nues, dont on pouvait se passer auparavant, devient un passage obligé pour vaincre certains ennemis plus imposants que les autres, et apparemment bullet-proof. On assiste à des affrontements comme chorégraphiés (en gardant toujours le contrôle de Nate), avec la possibilité de se saisir d’objets du décor (clé à molettes, portes de placard ou encore bouteilles vides) pour fracasser le crâne de nos adversaires (sauf si vous préférez leur éclater la tête contre le mur ou le comptoir d’un bar).
Tant qu’on y est, je tiens à souligner que l’IA ennemie hyper agressive de ce troisième opus vous donnera du fil à retordre. Les phases de shoot, plus intenses et surtout beaucoup plus longues, ne pourront être surmontée en campant dans un coin à attendre que vos ennemis se présentent d’eux même au compte goûte pour vous permettre de les éliminer. L’environnement est d’ailleurs si bien pensé qu’il permettra toujours à vos assaillants de vous attaquer par derrière, ou de vous balancer une grenade (qu’il est maintenant possible de renvoyer!). Considérant que l’IA alliée vous sera totalement inutile dans ces moments là, autant vous préparez à d’éprouvants épisodes de frustration.
Ajoutez à tout cela les inévitables phases cultes de plateformes dans des décors encore plus ahurissants (et parfois évolutifs), et vous obtenez d’après moi le meilleur jeu d’aventure qui ait vu le jour jusqu’à présent.
UNCHARTED MOVIE
Les graphismes étant d’une qualité impressionnante, autant en jeu que pendant les cinématiques (vous vous rappelez ce trailer où Nate se retrouve seul, face au désert, à quelques mètres d’un avion en flammes? C’est de cette qualité là dont je parle) je me suis plusieurs fois surprise à « regarder le jeu », comme je regarderais un film. Les cinématiques s’intègrent parfaitement entre deux phases de jeu grâce à des transitions quasi-invisibles, avec une animation en motion capture qui rend les personnages plus vrais et spontanés que nature. (Mention spéciale aux acteurs excellents, auxquels on ne peut rendre justice qu’en faisant le jeu en VO. J’en reparlerais tout à l’heure…). Servie par une Bande Originale encore plus inspirée et magnifique que celle d’Uncharted 2, la mise en scène nous fait ressentir ce que ressent notre personnage. Des plus simples sensations (le froid, le chaud) aux plus subtiles états d’esprit (solitude, désespoir…), les mots se révèleront superflus là où l’animation, le jeu des acteurs (et oui, pour Uncharted on peut le dire!), la musique et la mise en scène suffisent.
DRAKE & ELENA & SULLY & CHLOE.
Notre cher Nathan mis à part, on retrouvera tout les personnages des opus précédents (Sully bien sûr, qui tient une place des plus importantes au niveau de l’histoire, mais également Chloé et Elena). Les nouveaux personnages sont tous réussit, un en particulier (dont je ne révèlerais pas l’identité au risque de gâcher la surprise) qui apporte vraiment quelque chose au casting, et que l’on découvre assez rapidement dans le jeu. On n’en profite malheureusement pas assez longtemps à mon goût…
L’histoire nous fait une fois de plus voyager à travers le monde, mais également dans le passé de nos héros. Beaucoup plus « psychologique » que les précédents volets, Drake’s Deception fait la part belle aux révélations sur les personnages. Bien que l’humour soit toujours au rendez-vous, le jeu se révèle plus sombre par bien des aspects. Nathan Drake sera cette fois opposé à Catherine Marlowe, anglaise sadique appartenant à son passé et tout aussi obsédée que lui par les mystères laissés en héritage par Sir Francis Drake. Plus subtile que les seigneurs de guerre psychopathes qu’affrontent généralement les chasseurs de reliques (…), un certain mystère entoure cette fois nos ennemis, qui jouent plus sur le terrain de la psychologie pour parvenir à leurs fins. Attendez vous d’ailleurs à une énorme différence par rapport aux deux précédents volets quant aux révélations finales. Drake’s Déception n’offre pas instantanément toutes les réponses, mais si vous cherchez suffisamment, tout deviendra clair.
DRAKE’S « GODDAMN » DECEPTION
Ha oui parce que je tiens à préciser que Drake’s Deception veut dire « La tromperie de Drake ». Ou duperie, supercherie, MENSONGE! Et non pas « L’Il-lu-sion ». Cà résume assez bien ce que je pense de la VF. Parce que la traduction du titre mise à part, et malgré un doublage de qualité (toute relative dans le cas de certains personnages) le jeu est selon moi à faire en Version Originale. Nolan North en premier (doubleur de Nate donc, mais également de Desmond Miles de Assassin’s Creed pour vous faire une idée) les acteurs sont tous excellents. Des personnalités plus marquées, des dialogues plus savoureux et la possibilité de discerner les Anglais des Yankies grâce à leurs accents, pour moi, y a pas photo.
Voilà ce que j’ai pensé d’Uncharted 3 : Drake’s Deception. Ais-je été claire sur le fait que c’était pour moi le meilleur jeu dans sa catégorie? Avec son histoire captivante, ses révélations troublantes et sa réalisation magnifique, j’ai été très agréablement surprise par cette suite dont je pensais le précédent volet imbattable niveau qualité générale. Alors pour tous les arachnophobes férus d’archéologie comme moi, mais aussi pour tous les autres, n’hésitez pas plus longtemps, ce jeu est fait pour vous!
